The Geek Girl story
As with many of my kind I was laid off from Corporate America due to outsourcing. Since so many jobs have gone overseas these days I was finding it difficult to secure another position. During my down-time I noticed a need. Friends, family members, friends of family, friends of friends, etc ..., were looking for help with their computers. I was soon spending more time fixing people's computer problems then looking for a job and I realized that there was a real need out there for reasonably priced computer help. So Geek Girl was born. As word of mouth spreads, Geek Girl wanders the windy city and beyond, leaving happy clients in her wake. Where ever confusion and frustration reign, she is there to help.
In my travels I identified a second need; web design / development for personal or small business use, that didn't break their budget. Since that had been my profession the past ten years, I bravely delved into that arena also. From there a number of my clients asked if I could try some desktop publishing, brochures, catalogues, business cards etc... I said sure I'll give it a try. Many satisfied clients later, I am pleased to offer that service as well.
